Backwater Fence is owned and managed by Mary Quinlan. Since our founding in 2013, Backwater Fence has grown into one of Houston’s largest commercial fence contractors by focusing on providing the finest commercial fence and exemplary service to our customers. We are a certified Woman Owned Business with a history and track record of building large and complicated fencing projects for many of Houston’s largest contractors, companies and school districts. We fabricate the finest custom fence and gates in our 12,000 square foot fabrication shop. Backwater employs 25 people, and on any given day we have eighteen crews installing commercial fence in the field.

Our Founder
Backwater Fence was founded by Mary Quinlan's husband, David Miears in 2013. Armed with 20 years’ experience in the fence industry and excellent customer relationships, David had a vision to create a great fence company that focused on customer service and excellence. With tenacity, perseverance and hard work, David grew Backwater Fence into what it is today. Since we lost David in 2020, we have continued to grow his vision, and his legacy lives on in the memories of his many friends in the industry and with every fence we build.
